Downtime Reduction with Fast Restart Function in a Beverage Production System

Bottled-beverage production systems require considerable machinery and sophisticated control systems. A malfunction in the system can result machine stoppages, thereby decreasing productivity resulting output not meeting required target. Therefore, problem of frequent stoppages must be resolved. The ‘Fast Restart Function’ is a proposed feature that help reduce downtime by time for product to drain from conveyor. In this study, using strategy, investigated manufacturing system’s efficiency increased 86.81% 90.29%, enabling an increase average capacity 27,187 bottles per day, i.e., 3.48 percent increment daily capacity. When employed inefficient or facing shutdowns, value mitigating stoppages.
